Soap and Glory, Thick and Fast Mascara

One thing I was lucky enough to receive this Christmas from my Auntie in her homemade Christmas cracker was Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara, and I couldn't wait to try this baby out. As you may know I, like many other beauty bloggers absolutely love soap and glory but haven't had too much experience with their makeup and am always intrigued when I have the chance to try out a new product, especially when it comes to mascara.

‘Thick and Fast ‘retails at £10, and Soap and Glory say ‘This super volume mascara creates amazingly, longer, fuller, fabulous lashes. Featuring SUPERFILL False Lash Fillers, SHINE AMPLIFIERS, NOFLAKE24 technology and super-fine no-clumps natural wax film formers‘(If you're like me you won't understand what half that means but honestly I really don't think that matters).

I was impressed at how it lengthened my lashes, but unfortunately, It didn't create any volume or make them seem fuller. The application is also difficult, as the brush is very large, and the bristles densely packed. Other reviewers have said the wand holds too much product, but weirdly, I found the opposite. More than one coat is definitely needed, especially if you want thick, volumised lashes as it advertises.

Overall, I don't think I'll be buying it again; I'd rather spend around the £8 mark on Maybelline mascara, or go the whole hog and spend £20 on Benefits ‘They're Real’.

Have you tried the Soap and Glory mascara, do you think it does exactly what it says on the tin (excuse the pun).

  1. This looks like a really interesting product, I bought it recently but am waiting for my They're Real to run out before I start using it. I too like volumising mascaras so not sure how I'd get on with it, but we shall see! Great review, as always :)

    1. I'm going to be honest if you go from using your 'they're real' to using this I have a feeling you might be a little disappointed as I really don't think its as good as it, its a nice mascara don't get me wrong but 'they're real' is nicer.

    1. I also love my Maybelline falsies and I would prefer that to this. As I say I got it as a present but I don't think I will be repurchasing it.

    1. I do like it, I'm in no way saying I dislike it but like you I love a bit of volume in my lashes and I need it. It's the only downside. Plus I don't feel it's packaging is in the same league as the other soap and glory products which I love. Xxx

  5. Ah shame it didn't volumise - why are mascaras so difficult to get right! Haha is it different from the black packaged one?

    1. It really is such a pain. This is the first Soap & Glory mascara I have ever used so I'm not sure that it's the same.
